Tea Eggs

You will need
1/2 dozen eggs, hard boiled
2-3 Tbsp dark soy sauce
1/2-1 anise star
2 tea bags (black or green tea)
Boiling water

Crack hard boiled eggs lightly against a firm surface to create an even crackling throughout the whole egg surface.  Do not peel off the egg shell.  Place eggs in a small pot, cover with enough boiling water to submerge the eggs.  Add the remaining ingredients.  Simmer for 1-2 hours and let eggs cool in liquid over night.  The longer you keep the eggs in solution, the more noticeable the marble pattern.
